Top Ten Tuesday, a concept started by The Broke and the Bookish, is a themed post that connects bloggers to bloggers, bloggers to readers, and readers to readers. Every Tuesday has a special topic, and this Tuesday is a freebie. I’ve chosen “Top Ten Favorite Cover Art” — although I should preface this with “at the moment” because my opinion changes with the seasons.
This spring/summer transitional period, my favorite cover art includes…
- Look at that! Sweet and Southern and YUM.
- It looks like a genuine woodcut. Yes, please!
- Southern autumn/winter setting, but feels so summery. Plus it’s filled with action and ninja-fighting skills!
- Not only does this remind me of Indiana, but it’s also kind of haunting.
- I want to touch that dress.
- So much better than the busy US cover. It makes the book look more powerful than hokey.
- I love ALL the covers of this trilogy, but this is by far my fav. Power walk.
- Honestly, all the UK covers for this trilogy are gorgeous. I’m a sucker for flames.
- Like flames, I’m a sucker for water.
What’s your favorite cover art? Cover art love doesn’t always translate into a great book, and vice versa, but for today you can gush over all the covers without judgement!
What was your TTT?

Great choices there ! I haven’t read any of these but I’m tempted to check out “the wedding bees” and “the discovery of witches”. Here is mine 🙂

I’ve read all except THE WEDDING BEES — I’ve eyed it so many times I just might have to pick it up. Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of movement in these covers! I love the Seraphine one too – makes me curious about the book itself. To goodreads! 🙂

Oh, it’s a wonderful story. Feels very medieval. Looking forward to the sequel!

Great choices! The cover for Seraphina is really cool! I also love the covers for What I Thought Was True and Days of Blood and Starlight!
Here’s my TTT! I did British books I wish more Americans would read. 🙂

Great topic! I haven’t read The Winter Witch yet (I haven’t even read The Witch’s Daughter yet) but I agree that cover really is gorgeous; I desperately want that dress. I love the Rebel Belle cover, too, it’s so pretty. 🙂

You won’t need to read Brackston’s books in order, so pick up WINTER WITCH when you get the chance!

Oh, lovely! I’ve never seen that cover for A Discovery of Witches, but I agree, it’s terrific! These are all great, but the ones that really catch my eye are Between Shades of Grey and The Winter Witch. Great list!

According to Goodreads, this DISCOVERY OF WITCHES cover is the UK version. I shall find it… *grabby hands*
To be honest, BSoG and TWW’s covers are what drew me in to read the jackets. The soft shades and one pop of color really work.
Reviews from a Bookworm
Great topic this week, I love book covers and hate when a book has a really ugly one. My favourite from those would definitely be Deliverance 🙂 Here’s my post, I decided to go with my favourite mind-blowing book endings.
Laura
Oh, me too! That’s why I’m always hunting for other [English] editions. It’s such a shame when great books have poor designs.
Thanks for stopping by!

I have to agree these choices are diffently beautiful! I especially love the cover for What I Thought Was True! 🙂
Laura
Me too! Such lovely shades of blue and purple. Very calming effect.

This is such an amazingly fun list!! I went through my Goodreads book list to pick a few favorite covers, and got totally overwhelmed – starting to think this is going to have to be my next freebie! (Here’s a few examples…*cough* just a…few. Miss Buncle’s Book, Horten’s Miraculous Mechanisms, The Rose Garden, The Radleys, Wildflower Hill, & The Sugar Queen. (I hope all these links actually work, otherwise it’s sad day for me!)
Sorry to go overboard there, but I so wanted to share because I love them so much! (And so much yes to Seraphina and Between Shades of Gray!!!)
Oh, and here’s my Top Ten Books I Want as Movies, as if you don’t already have enough links to click on 😉
Laura
OH MY GOSH. Hahaha thanks for sharing your favorites! I really like MISS BUNCLE’S BOOK and HORTEN’S, they feel dark and clever and vintage/Victorian poster. I like those design methods almost as much as sharp photography.
